We are seeking skilled and experienced Tax Professionals to join our FlowFi Network. As a Tax Professional, you will be responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for our end clients, performing individual contributor tasks typical of a tax professional. Your expertise in tax laws and regulations, combined with exceptional customer service skills, will help our clients navigate tax compliance and achieve successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation and Compliance

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including any necessary extensions
  • Identify and apply relevant tax deductions, credits, and exemptions to minimize client tax liabilities
  • Monitor tax law changes and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies to optimize their tax positions and reduce liabilities

Client Interface and Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and understanding their unique tax needs
  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary tax documents, clarify tax questions, and ensure compliance with filing deadlines
  • Provide clients with timely updates and insights on their tax situation, and offer recommendations for tax-saving opportunities
  • Address client inquiries and concerns in a professional, clear, and efficient manner, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate existing tax preparation processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
  • Collaborate with the management team to implement best practices, streamline workflows, and leverage technology to optimize tax services
  • Stay current on tax software and tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of tax filings

Tax Research and Reporting

  • Conduct research on complex tax issues to ensure clients receive accurate and up-to-date tax advice
  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related reports, including income tax provision calculations, tax filings, and other tax-related documents
  • Assist with tax audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA, EA (Enrolled Agent) certification, or other tax-related certifications are highly preferred
  • Proven experience in tax roles, with a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Experience working on multiple clients' tax returns each year, with a focus on diverse industries and complex tax issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with clients and team members
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify tax discrepancies and resolve tax issues
  • Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Thomson Reuters UltraTax) and Microsoft Office applications; ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of current tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and delivering high-quality tax solutions

This role is fully remote and does not require a full, 40-hour commitment. Our Tax Professionals have the flexibility to work according to their schedules—whether that be 10 hours a week or a full 40 hours. Please note that compensation varies based on experience. This is a 1099 role servicing clients. You’ll be matched to clients based on your availability and expertise.
